Graduate Student

Fairfield is located in Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District, the largest Recognized district in all of Texas. To earn this prestigious rating from the Texas Education Agency a district must achieve an attendance rate of 94% or higher, a dropout rate of 3.5% or less, and TAAS passing rate on all tests for the entire student body as well as subgroups.

Every school serving Fairifield earned an EXEMPLARY rating from the TEA for the 2010 school year!

Students benefit from a wide array of challenging academic and extra curricular activities and from a low overall student/teacher ratio of 22 to 1. Seventy-two percent of Cy-Fair High School graduates go on to attend college.

Fairfield has three elementary schools right inside the community. A series of greenbelts allow kids to walk or ride their bike to school. Currently, schools include either Ault Elementary, Keith Elementary, Swenke Elementary, Spillane Middle School and Cy-Ranch High School. Ault is known state-wide for its exemplary rating and outstanding performance. Keith also has an exemplary rating and is located adjacent to the Fairfield Athletic Club and boasts a state-of-the-art-design. Swenke Elementary opened in August 2009 and earned an exemplary rating during its first year open.

Ault Elementary

Each year since Ault opened, the school has earned an Exemplary rating from Texas Successful School Award program, the highest rating awarded by the state. Ault was recognized by Texas Monthly in the magazine's annual feature on the best schools in Texas. Featured schools were selected based on the National Center of Educational Accountability's analysis of student test results and Ault was singled out for high marks in math and science. Teachers and programs have won local, state, and national accolades. One of the schools science programs, NEEDS, was honored as most outstanding in the state and also received national recognition. Many of Ault's teachers are recognized as being outstanding; including an Ault teacher who was one of twenty-five educators across the nation selected to serve on the Presidential National Energy Commission.

Keith Elementary

This Texas Exemplary school is named for Gwen Wayman Keith, who was a teacher, coordinator, assistant principal, and principal in Cypress-Fairbanks before retiring in June, 2002. Serving grades K-5, this state-of-the-art facility is located at the corner of Mason Road and Fairfield Green Boulevard. High expectations for student achievement is the foundation of all practices at Keith Elementary. As a result, various students and staff have been recognized for outstanding performance in the last four years. Keith has also been chosen as a Model Literacy campus, allowing district wide personnel to observe outstanding literacy instruction from Keith teachers.

Swenke Elementary

Swenke Elementary opened in August 2009and earned an exemplary rating during its first year open. The new elementary school sits on a 14-acre site located at Fairfield Place Drive and Schiel Road. The district’s 50th elementary school was designed by Bay Architects and is a new prototype design using design features from McFee Elementary School. The school features a complementary unique design utilizing similar building materials and colors. Swenke Elementary provides enrollment relief for Keith and Ault elementary schools. The school is the seventh elementary campus and the last new facility funded from the 2004 Bond Referendum.

Spillane Middle School

Spillane Middle School is an exemplary campus. Carolyn Stamm Spillane, chosen as the namesake, has spent 28 of her 40 years of teaching as a CFISD educator. Spillane teachers strive to address the learning styles of all students in order to promote successful upper-level learning.

Cy-Ranch High School

Cypress Ranch is one of two new high schools which opened in Fall of 2008 in the district. Cy-Ranch is an exemplary rated campus. A swimming pool option was approved for Cy-Ranch, which has an eight-lane, 25-yard meet pool with a five-lane, warm-up pool area. This allows CFISD to host larger swimming competitions such as district meets and tri and quad meets. Currently, district swim meets are held outside CFISD.

Future Schools

Fairfield also includes a site for a middle school (#17). The bond for this has passed and the opening date has been set for 2011.
