Fairfield parents should be excited to know that the Texas Education Agency's annual accountability ratings were released Thursday, July 30, naming Cypress-Fairbanks I.S.D. 'Recognized' for the second year in a row.

The rating is likely due to steadily rising performance by the district in the last three years. In 2009, 63 out of 74 campuses were declared "Recognized" or "Exemplary", which was a climbing number from 2008 and 2007 numbers. Notably, Cy-Fair High Schools showed the highest increase, where 90% of campuses were "Recognized" compared to 25% in 2008.

Statement from Superintendent of School, David Anthony:
"This 'Recognized' rating is the result of our students' and staff's commitment to continue to achieve academically. A joint effort among students, teachers, staff and parents to build on the previous years' success produced unprecedented results from the elementary level through high school."

Growth in excellence in a highly rated school district is just one more reason why Fairfield residents have chosen an excellent place to live!

In many Friendswood Development Company communities, new-home buyers can take advantage of a special incentive that will add what many consider a very important feature to their new home.

For a limited time, Village Builders is offering buyers a unique incentive: a free built-in natural gas generator in addition to free Design Studio options.

The offer applies to contracts written on homes until July 19, 2009 and homes must close by a specified contract date.

Now more than ever, a permanent standby generator has become a feature that many people have chosen to add to their home, often spending as much as $10,000. The natural gas generator is designed to power a home during a loss of electrical power, something many Houstonians experienced for weeks in the aftermath of hurricane Ike.

The popularity of this feature has grown significantly since the hurricane hit Houston last year and now, new-home buyers who take advantage of this special incentive from Village Builders can experience the benefits of having this feature in their own home. Village Builders New Home Consultants have complete details on the offer, and sales offices are open daily.

Lennar is making summer home buying a little bit more exciting with a special incentive that enables buyers to choose between three generous options when purchasing their new home.

For a limited time, Lennar is offering buyers the opportunity to choose one of the following:

  • $3,000 in closing costs paid by Lennar
  • A Rainbow Play System in their backyard, or
  • A front load washer and dryer

A part of the summer promotion, “There’s No Place Like Lennar” the builder is offering this in all of its Houston area communities including master-planned communities by Friendswood Development Company and Trailwood Communtiies by Friendswood Development Company.
